Conference of "Daymokhk"

A conference of the Ingush National Association "Daymokhk" took place in Nazran on October 9. The participants discussed issues concerned with the implementation of the Agreement Between North Osetia and Ingushetia of October 11, 2002 and the forthcoming elections of the republican National Assembly deputies.

Association board chairman Khasan Atigov reported on the work that has been done in the current year. He told about the meetings of Coordination Board members with President of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov and President of North Osetia Aleksandr Dzasokhov. Urgent questions of IDPs' return to the places of their permanent residence, good-neighborliness, and cooperation were raised during those meetings.

"Daymokhk" activists have repeatedly visited settlements of joint residence (the Prigorodny district), have carried on the work with those IDPs who have not returned yet.

The conference resolution says its participants found the work of the Association on the Agreement implementation to be satisfactory. But at the same time they noted it was necessary to stir up their efforts in this direction.

The "Daymokhk" representatives proposed a number of candidates for the Ingush parliamentary elections appointed for December 7. The final decision on the "Daymokhk" list of candidates is to be made in the nearest future at a session of the Association Board.
