Six persons liquidated in special operation in Makhachkala

As stated by power agents, four suspected militants were liquidated in a special operation conducted in Makhachkala. Two employees of law enforcement bodies were also lost.

The operation in Magistralnaya Street in Makhachkala, where a group of supposed militants were blocked in a private house, was launched on September 24. The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the district.

According to the statement of the press service of the FSB one of the casualties was identified as Alibek Abunazarov, leader of the Makhachkala subversive and terrorist grouping. The remaining three suspects have no been identified yet. Under preliminary information, all of them were members of Abunazarov's grouping.

While power agents were evacuating civilians from the special operation zone, militants tried to fight through the cordon. In the skirmish, two law enforcers, who shielded peaceful residents, were lost, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The "Gazeta.Ru" adds that the CTO regime, introduced on September 24, will survive till further special order.
