Opposition journalists not admitted to parliament sessions
On November 18, the Union of Parliamentary Journalists addressed a statement to Milli Majlis Speaker Murtuz Alekserov in view of the ban against the admission to parliament sessions for correspondents of the opposition "Azadlyg" and "Yeni Musavat" newspapers. The statement reads that after the presidential election, journalists of these newspapers are denied admission to cover sessions of the parliament. They were notified their accreditation was nullified. However, the Law on the Media says only court has a right to deprive a journalist of accreditation. The Union of the Parliamentary Journalists believes the legislative body will observe the laws and the leadership of Meli Majlis will not violate journalists' rights.
