Abkhazian Prime Minister: Russian peacekeepers provide stability in Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone
"There is no alternative to Russian peacekeepers," Abkhazian Prime Minister Raul Khajimba stressed in his interview with Russian journalists in Sukhum. "The CIS Peacekeeping Forces must stay in the zone of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict until the relations between Abkhazia and Georgia are fully adjusted," Mr. Khajimba said. The Premier declared once again, "Sukhum is ready to continue the peace process, but Tbilisi must have a desire to do it too". "Georgian leaders usually use warlike rhetoric in their speeches, not excluding that the conflict can be resolved by force. We are prepared for any turn in the developments, and we will defend our independence if it is needed," stated Prime Minister Raul Khajimba.
