Residents of Chechnya accused of financing terrorism
According to investigators, brothers Magomed and Islam Sultakhanov provided financial assistance to a resident of Chechnya, who wanted to join militants in Syria. The suspects are accused of aiding and abetting in terrorist activities and not reporting on a crime.
According to the investigators, the Sultakhanov brothers gave money to a resident of Argun, who planned to leave for Syria to join the terrorist organization "Islamic State" banned in Russia.
However, the prosecutor's office reports on revelation in the criminal case against the Sultakhanov brothers of the law violations in the part of investigative actions and the very charge.
"The case has been returned for additional investigation. After the violations are resolved, it will be sent to the court," the prosecutor's office reports.
Under the law, a person guilty of aiding and abetting in terrorist activities faces 5-10 years of imprisonment and for failure to report a crime a major fine or up to one year of imprisonment.
