Ruslan Gvashev rejects hospital doctors’ help

Ruslan Gvashev has explained his decision not to address municipal hospitals by the fact that he has already got experience of finishing the hunger strike. Besides, the activist counts on support of a doctor he knows.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 5, 67-year-old Ruslan Gvashev, the former head of the Circassian Shapsug Council of Elders, stopped his hunger strike at a request of people who held a spontaneous rally in his support.

During his trip to Krasnodar, Ruslan Gvashev has lost a lot of energy, and he is still unable to get out of bed, but he plans to attend a court session on October 16. This has been reported today by the activist himself.

Ruslan Gvashev was on hunger strike since September 11. He declared hunger strike in protest against a fine for praying at the Tulip Tree.

The activist explained that in 1995, he spent 12 days without food in protest against the war in Chechnya.

According to Ruslan Gvashev, he decided to stop his hunger strike after feeling the support of his fellow countrymen.

The activist believes law enforcers tried not to allow his participation in the consideration of his complaint in court.

Advocate Marina Dubrovina has suggested that a court hearing scheduled for October 16 may also not take place. According to the advocate's version, she has not yet received a notice on the postponement of the trial from October 5 to October 16.
