Relatives of Dagestani blogger Mirzekhanov link his arrest with law enforcers' persecutions

The arrest of Alibek Mirzekhanov in Moscow is a continuation of his persecutions by law enforcers in Dagestan, from where he fled after kidnapping and torture in 2013, Alibek's brother Mansur believes. According to Alibek's advocate, Mirzekhanov is imputed the involvement in the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 20, Alibek Mirzekhanov, detained within the case of a mass brawl near a Moscow cafe, was released, but then, his relatives reported that he had disappeared. On February 21, the court imprisoned him for two months.

Mirzekhanov's case is separated from the case of the brawl near the "Neolit" Cafe. Mirzekhanov is suspected of participating in a terrorist organization, his advocate, Shamil Yandarbaev, has informed.

"Law enforcers constantly had claims to him. All the years that he was in Moscow, because he had to run away from Dagestani law enforcers, he was under scrutiny," Mansur, Alibek's brother, has added.

According to Mansur, in 2013, law enforcers tried to force Alibek to testify against other people by torture.

In February 2013, Alibek Mirzekhanov stated that he had been kidnapped for the second time by law enforcers and tortured.
