Court finds Zaur Dadaev's transfer from penal colony to prison as lawful

The court of appeal dismissed a complaint filed by Zaur Dadaev about the decision to toughen the terms of his punishment for the murder of Boris Nemtsov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 25, 2019, in Irkutsk, a court granted a request filed by the chief of a penal colony for a temporary, for three years, transfer of Zaur Dadaev to prison.

The request to toughen for Zaur Dadaev the conditions for serving a sentence is connected with his "regular violations" of the rules of detention in the penal colony, the Department for the Irkutsk Region of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) reported.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Zaur Dadaev was recognized as a repeated violator of the penal colony's regime, since he had been subjected to penalties 14 times. In particular, he talked through a cell window with another convict, did not respond to demands of warders, "prevented a search," and refused to do morning exercises, the TASS reports.

Let us remind you that on July 13, 2017, the court found defendants in the case on the murder of Boris Nemtsov guilty. Zaur Dadaev, whom investigators suggested to be a killer, who committed the murder of Boris Nemtsov, was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.
