Video of scuffle in Makhachkala shelter posted
Law enforcers used force to enter the shelter for victims of domestic violence in Makhachkala, where Khalimat Taramova was hiding; it follows from the video posted on the Telegram.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, Chechen law enforcers took away Khalimat Taramova, a daughter of Ramzan Kadyrov's close associate, from the above shelter in Dagestan, organized by the "Marem" human rights group, where she was hiding from domestic violence.
Svetlana Anokhina, a journalist, and volunteers of the "Marem" project were detained in the shelter and accused of resisting the police; but then, they were acquitted.
The edition named "Readovka" has posted a video on its Telegram channel of how law enforcers broke into the shelter on June 10.
Anna Manylova, Taramova's girlfriend, said earlier that when Taramova's father took her from the shelter, she threatened to commit suicide. Natalia Khodyreva, a member of the Saint Petersburg Human Rights Centre, fears that Taramova, as a member of the LGBT community, may be subjected to the so-called "correctional raping."
After Khalimat Taramova was returned to Chechnya, the "Grozny" TV Channel showed a story in which she assured that her rights were "absolutely not infringed upon." Instagram users doubted the sincerity of these words. In Chechnya, a trend has emerged for the use of media in order to suppress the resonance around high-profile cases related to human rights violations in the region, Saida Sirazhudinova and Svetlana Gannushkina, human rights defenders, have stated.
