Since start of special operation, over 6000 Ukrainian citizens arrived in Azerbaijan
Since February 24, 2022, a total of 6163 citizens of Ukraine have arrived in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Migration Service has informed.
The outlet "Trend" writes with reference to the press service of the above Service that some Azerbaijani citizens cannot come to their homeland from Russia, since the Azerbaijani border has been closed for more than a month. Since early April, several hundred campers in Dagestan have left for Azerbaijan across the Georgian border, but more than a hundred still remain in the camp. Despite a significant easing of coronavirus quarantine measures, restrictions on crossing land borders remain in force.
Some Azerbaijani residents oppose the special operation and hold protests, but authorities have repeatedly refused to sanction such events. Thus, on April 8, Baku authorities refused to allow members of the Azerbaijani Democracy and Prosperity Party (ADPP) to hold a picket in front of the Russian Embassy.
