Eco-activist Andrei Fokin stops hunger strike at isolation facility

Andrei Fokin has held his hunger strike for three days in protest against his arrest during the elections, where he acted as a confidant of the candidate for the Lermontov city council from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 9, in the city of Lermontov, during the registration of a complaint about a violation committed at a polling station, Andrei Fokin, who acted as an authorized representative (confidant) of Marina Kardash, a candidate for city council member, was accused of organizing a public event without filing a notification. The court sentenced him to seven days of arrest. The reason for the arrest was his meeting with the residents of the village of Ostrogorka, but his arrest has to do with the elections, Ms Kardash is sure.

She has linked Andrei Fokin's prosecution with his environmental activism, in particular, with the fight against unauthorized dumps, and with his actions during the elections.
