Oppositionist Aushev’s brother killed in Ingushetia

Businessman Musa Aushev, a brother of oppositionist and human rights defender Maksharip Aushev, whose murder in 2009 remained unsolved, died after being attacked by unidentified people. Sources associated the killing with a conflict around a land plot.

The law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia are searching for a criminal who mortally wounded a local resident, the Ingush Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

The incident took place in the centre of Nazran, where unidentified persons opened fire on Musa Aushev, a director of a construction company, when he entered a store. The man died as a result of a severe wound, the “Interfax” reports today.

Musa Aushev was the director of the construction company engaged in the construction of social facilities, schools, kindergartens, and road construction. He is the brother of oppositionist and well-known businessman Maksharip Aushev. According to the preliminary information, the motive of the crime could be a conflict between the murdered businessman and his fellow villagers over the land plot, the “Interfax” reported.
