Social network users doubt prospects for inquiry into murder near Dagestani Kayakent

The investigation into the murder of a young man from Kayakent has been taken under control; the involvement of other participants in the brawl is examined, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has promised. However, Telegram users have doubted that Moscow's intervention will help bringing perpetrators to justice and recalled the unsolved murder of Gasanguseinov brothers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that relatives of the 19-year-old Magomed-Ali Sultanov, who was killed in a brawl on November 10, claimed that the attackers on the young guy were trying to escape punishment. According to investigators, the attacker was alone; he was detained, but it follows from the video posted by the police that four men took part in the brawl. The villagers fear that those guilty of the teenager's death may stay at large.

On November 10, in the village of Usemikent, Kayakent District, the defendant multiply stabbed the 19-year-old local resident on the basis of personal hostile relations. As a result, the victim died on the spot.

After a resonance in social networks, Alexander Bastrykin, the ICRF head, took control of the murder.

Telegram users demanded to punish the perpetrators, but expressed doubt that the ICRF's intervention would speed up the inquiry.

In August 2016, Nabi, 17, and Gasangusein, 19, Gasanguseinov were shot dead in the counterterrorist operation (CTO). Law enforcers declared that they were killed by militants, but the brothers' parents and fellow villagers insist that the young men were shepherds and simply grazed their cattle. In 2018, the Dagestani branch of the ICRF announced that the case would be investigated in Moscow. In November 2019, a series of pickets were held in Dagestan demanding that the case be investigated, resulting in a disciplinary sanction against the head of the police department, who reported on the murder of the brothers as two militants, but he continues working at the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The father of the assassinated brothers demands to open case against the policeman, but he has already been refused four times.
