Police apologize to Dagestani historian Donogo

The computer, flash drives, and mobile phone seized during the search were returned to Dagestani historian Khadji-Murad Donogo, but his books are still being checked. The historian noted that the police apologized to him.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that Khadji-Murad Donogo, the former deputy director of the National Museum of Dagestan, said that on November 30, 2022, the police seized books, flash drives, a mobile phone, and a computer with valuable historical materials. Law enforcers asked questions about his participation in scientific conferences in Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. According to Khadji-Murad Donogo, the seizure of the materials endangered his scientific work.

Khadji-Murad Donogo is a Caucasian scholar, Doctor of Historical Sciences, an author of many dozens of books, including about the Caucasian War and Imam Shamil.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that after the searches at the Khadji-Murad Donogo’s home in Makhachkala, pickets were held on December 19 and 26, 2022, demanding to stop the persecution of the historian.
