Relatives of the detained resident of South Ossetia apply for help to the OSCE
Relatives of Gamlet Parastaev, a citizen of the Republic of South Ossetia (RSO) who was detained on November 27 by the Georgian police, have addressed Terry Hakala, head of the OSCE Mission in Georgia, who is on her visit to South Ossetia, with a request to render them any possible assistance.
"We have learnt that the head of the OSCE Mission will be in Tskhinval today, and decided to address her too. Perhaps her intervention can influence the Georgians, and they will release Gamlet, as he is kept in prison for nothing," one of Mr Parastaev's relatives has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Gamlet Parastaev was detained on November 27 at the illegal (not coordinated under the Mixed Control Commission (MCC) for settling the Georgian-Ossetian conflict) police post located in Avnevi village, populated by Georgian, in the territory of the conflict zone.
According to the interlocutor of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, Ms Hakala has promised to get into the matter.
