Court decides to find Manana Aslamazyan for in presentio trial
Today, the Tver Court of Moscow has rejected the complaint against announcement of search of Manana Aslamazyan, director of the "Internews". Advocate Victor Parshutkin, who petitioned to the court on cancellation of the search, told journalists today about it.
"In our multiple petitions we have repeatedly informed the Investigatory Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation about Aslamazyan's whereabouts - her exact address in Paris and her telephone number," the advocate told the "Gazeta.Ru". "Nevertheless, the search order was issued." The defendant's requests to conduct all investigatory actions with her at the Russia's consulate in France and to hold her trial in absentia were also rejected.
The advocate also tried to find out once again what kind of search was announced in relation to his client - the federal or international one. The search statement does not specify it, and the judge has also refused to clarify it.
The decision on Manana Aslamazyan's complaint will be announced by the Tver Court tomorrow, January 22.
