In the third quarter of 2012, 57 persons fell victim to armed conflict in Chechnya

In the territory of the Chechen Republic, in July, August and September 2012, at least 57 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 26 persons were killed and 31 were wounded. These are the results of calculations of the "Caucasian Knot" based on own materials of the edition and information from open sources.

The death toll includes 1 civilian, 15 law enforcement agents, and 10 persons, who, according to the law enforcement agencies, were involved in the armed underground.

The number of the wounded persons includes 1 civilian, 29 power agents, and 1 suspected militant.

Meanwhile, in July, in the republic, 5 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 4 persons were killed and 1 wounded. In August, 30 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 13 persons were killed and 17 were wounded. In September, 22 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 9 persons were killed and 13 wounded.

One should understand that the above statistics cannot reflect with absolute accuracy the number of victims in each of the identified categories of the survey. Not all the data get into news reports. It is not always possible to verify the reliability of statements made by law enforcement bodies.

In the first quarter of 2012, according to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", in Chechnya, 78 persons fell victim to the armed conflict. Of these, 36 persons were killed and at least 42 were wounded. In the second quarter of 2012, 24 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in the republic. Of these, 15 persons were killed and 9 were wounded.

In 2011, at least 201 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya. Of these, at least 95 persons were killed and 106 were wounded.
