"Novaya Gazeta" reports mass shooting of dogs in Makhachkala (+video)

Residents of Makhachkala have recorded a video appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to "stop an avalanche of violence in Dagestan" and stop the shooting of dogs in the capital of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 19, a body of a nine-year-old girl with multiple lacerations was found in Makhachkala. According to the preliminary information of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the child died as a result of dog attacks. In Makhachkala, after the death of the girl, people organized catching of stray animals in the streets and in the yards.

In several days, a million-resident city has turned into a massacre place, and residents are afraid to let their dogs in the street. This was reported by the article "Appetite to Kill" prepared by Irina Gordienko and published on the website of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" on February 26.

According to the newspaper, about 1000 people appealed to the law enforcement bodies with complaints about killings of dogs.

Elmira, a volunteer of the NGO "Zoolife", notes that people shoot and kill not only stray dogs, but also pets.

On February 26, city residents gathered in the territory of the Eltav Forest of Makhachkala to record a video appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to deal with the situation with shooting of dogs in Makhachkala, the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.
