Russian court upholds Permyakov's life sentence

The North-Caucasian District Military Court has upheld the verdict passed by the Armenian court, which had convicted Valery Permyakov to life imprisonment for killing a family in Gyumri. According to the Russian court, the convict must serve his sentence in Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 28 the Cassation Court of Armenia upheld the Permyakov's life sentence for massacring the Avetisyan family. After that, the Armenian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) began discussing the issue on the place, where the convict should serve his sentence.

Earlier, Permyakov was sentenced by a Russian court to 10 years of imprisonment for desertion, theft and illegal carrying of firearms.

Today, the North-Caucasian District Military Court has upheld the life sentence passed to Permyakov in Armenia, said Alyona Katskalo, the press secretary of the Russian court.
