RT TV Channel: Astrakhan woman identifies boy from Baghdad shelter

On a video from a Baghdad shelter, an old woman from Astrakhan has recognized her grandson, who was born after the departure of her daughter with husband to Syria, the RT TV Channel reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the RT TV Channel release a story about five Russian-speaking children in the Baghdad shelter, Dagestani relatives identified four of them. Marina Yezhova, Children's Ombudsman in Dagestan, has got 213 complaints from republic's residents about transportation of children to the Middle East. In total, according to the Marina Yezhova's estimate, about a thousand children from Dagestan still stay in Syria and Iraq.

The woman from Astrakhan has reported that her daughter's husband had taken her daughter and granddaughter to Syria through Turkey. From Syria, the family moved to the city of Mosul, where about a year ago her grandson was born. In early 2017, the daughter told her mother that her husband was killed, and in February, she sent her a photo of her grandson and stopped contacting the mother.
