RT: Girl from Dagestan found in Mosul

The girl, found in Iraqi Mosul, said that she was from Makhachkala. Her mother has perished and she herself was wounded, the Russia Today (RT) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian authorities are trying to return the children, whose parents left together with them for Syria and Iraq and joined terrorists. Four Russian-speaking children in the Baghdad shelter were identified by Dagestani relatives after watching the RT’s footage. Marina Ezhova, the Dagestani Children's Ombudsperson, received 213 applications from residents of the republic about removal of children to the Middle East, and suggested that there may be about a thousand Dagestani children there.

A story of another child from Dagestan was published today by the RT. A girl from Mosul told reporters that her mother had perished during warfare having received wounds in the head and arm, while the girl herself received shrapnel wounds.

The girl said that her grandfather and grandmother live in Makhachkala; she could not answer the question about the whereabouts of her father.
