Police department boss killed in Chechen village

Abubakar Ustarkhanov, the police head of the village of Avtury in the Shali District of Chechnya, has been shot dead today in his head, a law enforcement source has reported.

According to the source, the police boss was killed this evening, when he was paying at the cashier in a store. A local resident is suspected of committing the murder.

Now, the centre of the village is blocked; all the shops are closed, the TASS reports quoting its source.

It is assumed that the killer had earlier worked for the police. Having shot Ustarkhanov dead, he hijacked his car, the "Kavkaz.Realii" reports citing its source.
