Makhachkala Mayor Musa Musaev suspected of abuse of power

Today, sources from the law enforcement bodies have reported about searches conducted in a house of Makhachkala Mayor Musa Musaev, as well as in his personal office in the city administration.

According to investigators, in March 2016, Musa Musaev illegally signed a resolution on granting Joint-Stock Company "ASPK" ownership of a land plot in the city of Makhachkala with an area of about 17.500 square meters for 1,100,000 roubles.

The land plot in question was originally the property of the Republic of Dagestan. According to the expert's conclusion, its market value exceeds 81 million roubles, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports. In that connection, investigators concluded that the Musa Musaev's illegal actions inflicted considerable material damage on the budget of Dagestan in the amount of about 80 million roubles.

A criminal case has been instituted against the official under Paragraph "c" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking actions by head of a local government body that clearly go beyond his power, causing grave consequences), reports the today's message posted on the ICRF's website.
