Murtazali Gasanguseinov manages to meet Prosecutor of Dagestan
Today, Murtazali Gasanguseinov, a father of the murdered shepherds, has succeeded in meeting Denis Popov, Prosecutor of Dagestan. At the meeting with the chair of the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office, Murtazali Gasanguseinov was accompanied by rights defender Djambulat Gasanov, a representative of the Gasanguseinov family.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 1, Murtazali Gasanguseinov the father of the assassinated brothers, came to a rally with the demand to investigate the murder of his sons, and promised to start a series of solo pickets aiming to achieve justice.
Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov were killed on August 24, 2016. Law enforcers declared them to be militants, who opened automatic fire at policemen. The casualties' fellow villagers demanded to punish those responsible for their murder, asserting that the brothers were shepherds and had no relation to the militants.
According to Djambulat Gasanov, at the meeting with the Prosecutor, he and Murtazali Gasanguseinov learned of the results of the examination appearing in the case materials. Earlier, they had not been given a chance to examine those documents, Djambulat Gasanov emphasized.
"At the meeting with the Dagestani Prosecutor, his deputy reported on the results of a new examination. As far as I understood his report, he spoke of an examination for presence of genetic traces of the Gasanguseinov brothers on weapons found near them. Those data were not included in the case materials. I know that since I studied every document. Maybe, we were just not informed about those results," said Djambulat Gasanov as quoted today by the "Kavkaz.Realii".
Djambulat Gasanov added that Dagestani Prosecutor Denis Popov promised to meet them again on March 20.
