Father of murdered Gasanguseinov brothers detained in Makhachkala
Law enforcers have accused Murtazali Gasanguseinov of trying to hold a picket and took him to the police station, Djambulat Gasanov, his representative, has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 23, 2016, the 17-year-old Nabi and the 19-year-old Gasangusein Gasanguseinov, residents of the village of Goor-Khindakh, were shot dead in the Shamil District. Law enforcers then declared the murdered brothers to be militants, saying that the young people had opened fire on them from Kalashnikov submachine guns. The Gasanguseinovs' fellow villagers demanded to punish those responsible for their murder, asserting that the guys were shepherds and had nothing to do with militants.
Starting from September 24, the father and mother of Gasanguseinov brothers have been holding pickets in Makhachkala. On October 1, more than 300 people came out to the square to support them. According to Djambulat Gasanov, who represents the interests of Gasanguseinov parents, the authorities refuse to sanction rallies under the motto "We are against police lawlessness!"
Policemen have detained Murtazali Gasanguseinov when he was going to picket outside the republic's branch of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), where the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) is holding today its sitting with the participation of federal leaders of the country's power block.
"At about 1 p.m., Murtazali Gasanguseinov was taken by policemen to the station for his intent to hold a rally in front of the Dagestani branch of the ICRF," Djambulat Gasanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
