Russian doctors arrive in Armenia to treat coronavirus-infected patients
On June 21, eight out of fifty Russian doctors sent to help their colleagues in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic arrived in Armenia. Over the day, 320 cases of the coronavirus infection were detected in the country. 13 coronavirus-infected patients died.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Armenia, which population is smaller than that of Azerbaijan and Georgia, is the leader in the number of new cases of coronavirus infection and the total number of coronavirus-infected patients in Southern Caucasus.
Specialists from Russia arrived in Armenia in the evening on June 21, the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports today with reference to the press service of the Armenian Ministry for Public Health. About 50 Russian doctors are expected to arrive in the country. "The arrival of the next group of specialists is expected in early July," the "Sputnik-Armenia" quoted the Armenian Ministry for Public Health as reporting.
The same aircraft brought to Armenia medical equipment and items of personal protective equipment (PPE), donated by the "VIVA Charity Foundation. Doctors and Volunteers for Armenia", the "Sputnik-Armenia" reports.
As of this morning, 320 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of coronavirus-infected patients has increased up to 20,588, the "News-Armenia" quotes the Armenian National Centre for Disease Control and Prevention as reporting.
Over the day, 10 people died from COVID-19 complications, and three other coronavirus-infected patients died from other causes. The total number of patients who died from COVID-19 reached 360 people, the Armenian National Centre for Disease Control and Prevention reported.
