Peacemakers report 47,000 returnees to Nagorno-Karabakh

The total number of residents, who have returned to Nagorno-Karabakh with the support of Russian peacemakers, has exceeded 47,000, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.

On January 1, Russian militaries escorted from Armenia to Karabakh a convoy of buses with 220 refugees.

The Russian MoD has failed to account for all the returnees. About 30,000 of them left Armenia unaccompanied by Russian peacemakers, Zhirair Mirzoyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Nagorno-Karabakh, said on November 30.

Over the past 24 hours, 60 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh returned to places of their permanent residence, the Russian MoD has reported.
