Second attack on law enforcers takes place in Karachay-Cherkessia within a year

In Karachay-Cherkessia, an attack on law enforcers in the village of Uchkeken was preceded by a suicide bomber's attack on FSB agents in the same village in 2020.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the law enforcement bodies reported an attack on law enforcers in the village of Uchkeken in the Malokarachaevsky District. As a result, a policeman was stabbed, and a fighter of the National Guard of Russia got a gunshot wound.

On December 11, 2020, in the same village, a suicide bomber attacked FSB agents while trying to break into the territory where operational-and-search measures were underway. The suicide bomber activated a bomb, and as a result, six persons were injured.

According to the investigators' information, on that day, two explosive devices were activated in the village. Law enforcers suffered in the second explosion when they worked at the place of the first incident.

Prior to the above attack, the law enforcement bodies had not reported about any armed incidents in Karachay-Cherkessia for five years. So, on December 18, 2017, in the village of Zelenchukskaya, five persons were killed during a counterterrorist operation (CTO). The law enforcement bodies declared the killed suspects to be members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) that were plotting terror acts.

The incident was preceded by the killings of three suspected militants during a special operation in December 2015.
