Sotk mine workers return to work after evacuation
The Sotk gold mine, whose workers had been evacuated due to shelling from Azerbaijan, has resumed their work. The situation on this section of the Armenian border is calm today, the "GeoProMining Gold" Company has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, the above company suspended the work of the Sotk field because of the shooting on the Azerbaijani border; and about 200 employees were evacuated.
The work of the Sotk gold mine has resumed this morning, said Ruzanna Grigoryan, the spokesperson of the "GeoProMining Gold" Company.
According to her story, although by the evening of August 17, the shooting at the border had stopped, the company bosses decided not to endanger the employees and cancelled the night shift. Now, according to Ms Grigoryan, the situation is calm, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.
