Blogger Tumso criticizes oppositionist Yashin speaking about Kadyrov
Opposition MP Ilya Yashin, who posted a video criticizing Ramzan Kadyrov, shifted the focus, while talking about the border conflict between Chechnya and Ingushetia and the proposals to legalize polygamy in Chechnya and the fighting efficiency of the “Kadyrov’s army,” blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov notes.
In particular, the blogger does not agree with the opinion about the land conflict between Chechnya and Ingushetia. According to Ilya Yashin, Ramzan Kadyrov “decided to annex part of the Ingush lands to Chechnya,” and the leader of Ingushetia agreed to that, which provoked massive protests.
According to Tumso Abdurakhmanov, “it would be more correct to say that the government of Ingushetia decided to appropriate a part of the Chechen lands” in the early 2000s.
The blogger also criticized the Ilya Yashin’s opinion that Ramzan Kadyrov allowed polygamy in Chechnya.
“This is not criticism of Ramzan Kadyrov, but criticism of all Muslims, because polygamy is accepted in Islam. To say that leads to a violation of rights already means to insult us,” Tumso Abdurakhmanov said.
According to the blogger, Ramzan Kadyrov did not violate the law, and polygamy does not automatically imply infringement of the rights of women.
Furthermore, Tumso Abdurakhmanov commented on the Ilya Yashin’s words about the “Kadyrov’s army.” “Ramzan actually created a regional army, which is perhaps the most combat-ready group in our country,” Ilya Yashin noted.
Tumso Abdurakhmanov admitted that “in general, the Ilya Yashin’s concern” over the issue was correct. “However, it seems to me that to consider the Kadyrov’s army the most combat-ready group in Russia means an insult to the Russian army,” Tumso Abdurakhmanov said.
