Adler activist detained for collecting signatures against QR codes

In the city of Adler, law enforcers have detained Vladislav Zhironkin, an activist of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), who was collecting residents' signatures against the QR-code system; a protocol was drawn up against him on violating the rules for holding public actions, the local CPRF branch has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since November 22, the entrance to shopping and entertainment complexes and catering establishments throughout the entire Kuban (Krasnodar Territory) is allowed only with a QR code or a special medical certificate.

Adler policemen drew up a protocol against Vladislav Zhironkin, the secretary of the CPRF primary unit, for committing an administrative offense – collection of people's signatures against QR codes. This was reported on November 23 by Alexander Safronov, the secretary of the CPRF regional branch, in his Telegram channel.

"This is a blatant lawlessness and violation of citizens' rights. We'll appeal against this illegal 'piece of paper'," the post quotes Mr Zhironkin as saying.

The protocol was drawn up against him under Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences (known as KoAP) "Violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing," Mr Safronov has specified.

The police also demanded from the activist to stop collecting signatures and threatened that otherwise he would be charged under Article 19.3 of the KoAP "Resistance to a policeman," the post also informs.
