Emigrant Rubati Mitsaeva returns to Chechnya

Rubati Mitsaeva, a former associate of Akhmed Zakaev, has arrived in Grozny. At the airport she was met by Magomed Khambiev, a Chechen MP, and Musa Dudaev, the Chechen Minister of Sports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 6, Mitsaeva asked Ramzan Kadyrov to allow her to return to Chechnya. Kadyrov assured that she and "others who had left can return to Chechnya at any time," while Mitsaeva, as he stated, is under threat of no criminal prosecution at home. Mitsaeva stressed that she had ceased to be Akhmed Zakaev's comrade-in-arms; the latter lives in Great Britain and, according to analysts, is perceived as a rival by Kadyrov.

Instagram users have treated her appeal to Kadyrov emotional and insufficiently reasoned. Readers of the "Caucasian Knot" have indicated that after a request to allow her to return to Chechnya, Mitsaeva will have to side with Kadyrov. On October 24, she criticized the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov.

According to the "Grozny-Inform", Mitsaeva, who participated in hostilities in Chechnya and had lived in Germany since 2003, has returned to her small homeland accompanied by her daughter.

Among those who met Mitsaeva were other former separatists who had returned to Chechnya, a reader of the "Caucasian Knot" has noted.
