Three participants of opposition motor rallies detained in Armenia

Today, the “Resistance” movement has held motor rallies to the cities of Spitak and Sevan, during which traffic has been temporarily blocked. Three protesters are detained.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Armenian opposition has been holding protest actions since April 25. On May 26, protesters gathered outside the building of the Supreme Judicial Council in Yerevan and demanded that a criminal case be opened against the Premier Pashinyan. In the evening, the opposition tried to disrupt the meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović.

Today, the “Resistance” opposition movement has held motor rallies with actions of disobedience in the regions of Armenia. Activists have blocked traffic on different sections of the highways from Yerevan to Spitak and from Yerevan to Sevan. The protest action has been held under the flags of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Participants of the motor rallies were chanting: “Nikol, go away!” and “Armenia without Nikol!”. They demanded the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister.

The “Caucasian Knot” correspondent was informed by Zarzand Gabrielyan, the chief of the Media Relations Department of the Armenian police, that three protesters were detained for failure to obey lawful demands of the police. According to Zarzand Gabrielyan, one person was detained on the highway from Yerevan to Sevan, and two other activists were detained in the area of Vardenis.
