Relatives of perished militaries demand to interrogate Pashinyan
Today, several dozen parents of militaries who perished in the autumn war of 2020 have gathered in front of the building of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia. The protestors have requested the National Security Service of Armenia to interrogate Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in a criminal case, the charge in which, according to the protestors, should be changed to high treason.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that the relatives of the deceased Armenian militaries regularly hold protests.
Today, several dozen people from among the relatives of the militaries who perished during the autumn war of 2020 in Nagorno-Karabakh have gathered in front of the building of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia in Yerevan. The protestors have requested the National Security Service of Armenia to launch an investigation against the country’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan under the article of high treason, the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent reports.
The criminal case has been instituted under Part 2 of Article 308 “Abuse of official authority, resulting in grave consequences due to negligence,” but the Investigating Committee of Armenia has not summoned Nikol Pashinyan for questioning for more than a month. This has been told to the “Caucasian Knot” by protestor Sevak Zakaryan, a father of deceased soldier Sedrak Zakaryan.
“This case should be reclassified on the grounds of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Armenia ‘High treason’, and Nikol Pashinyan should be involved in the case as a defendant,” Sevak Zakaryan emphasized.
