In Ingushetia, court returns mother of two Leila Gatagazheva to SIZO
The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has upheld an appeal filed by the prosecutor’s office against mitigation of a pre-trial restriction measure for Leila Gatagazheva, accused of involvement in groupings of Syrian militants. The young woman has been returned to a SIZO (pre-trial prison) for the second time.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in February, investigators excluded the article on aiding and abetting terrorist activities from the charges brought against Leila Gatagazheva. At present, the young woman is accused only of participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF). On April 27, the court decided to transfer her to house arrest.

A mother of Leila Gatagazheva took her to Syria and married her there when the girl was 13 years old. Leila Gatagazheva has already served five years in an Iraqi prison on a similar charge of working for militants of the “Islamic State” (IS)*, reports an advocate. The defence is seeking to have the criminal case closed.
