Court recognizes artist Kishev’s right to art house in Nalchik

A court supported artist Mukhadin Kishev in his dispute over the right to premises of an art house in Nalchik, because of which the artist’s spouse appealed to Ramzan Kadyrov. Following the court’s decision, more than a thousand paintings will stay in Kabardino-Balkaria and will not be transported to some other destinations, announces a lawyer of Mukhadin Kishev.

In November 2021, Kazbek Kokov, the leader of Kabardino-Balkaria, promised to solve the problem with the property rights of 82-year-old Mukhadin Kishev to the premises of the art house in Nalchik. Earlier, the artist and his spouse appealed to Ramzan Kadyrov for help, since the premises where the art house was set up were registered for a native of Chechnya.

Lawyer Elizaveta Shak reported that a court in the Krasnodar Territory recognized the Mukhadin Kishev’s ownership of the Kishev Art Home.

Jacqueline Diana Moss, Mukhadin Kishev’s spouse and art director, explains that the art house stores more than a thousand unique paintings.

“The Kishev Art Home, organized only thanks to the incredible efforts and funds of Jacqueline Diana Moss, is currently the only collection created in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) to preserve the artist’s creative heritage. If it is lost ... the republic may finally lose this cultural heritage,” lawyer Elizaveta Shak stated earlier as quoted by the “Gazeta Yuga” (Newspaper of the South).
