Ingush Govt reacts to allegations of abusing mental hospital patients

Appeals to the Prosecutor's Office (PO) in connection with the abuse of patients at the mental hospital located in the village of Psedakh (Malgobek District of Ingushetia) yielded no fruit, while there are still patients there, who have no relatives or whose families have no way to transfer them to another place. However, the press service of the Ingush government has stated that the PO had conducted multiple inspections, and repeated violations of this nature are excluded.

On August 10, 2022, the Ingush Ministry of Labour reported about a check conducted following complaints from patients' relatives that employees of the above mental hospital chained patients to walls and failed to provide them with proper care.

Since 2022, relatives of the patients at the mental boarding house in Psedakh have been seeking punishment for the employees who used to abuse patients. Relatives complained that their appeals to the PO gave no results. Some boarding house employees were fired, but the abuse of patients continued, the "Baza" Telegram channel has informed.
