Ecologists treat fine to blogger Ozarovsky as punishment for his activities

A fine for using obscene language to blogger from Anapa Yuri Ozarovsky followed his criticism of officials regarding the ineffective solution of problems with fuel oil spills.

The police drew up a report against Yuri Ozarovsky for using obscene language in a video about cleaning up fuel oil spill on the beaches of Anapa. A court fined the blogger 30,000 roubles. Yuri Ozarovsky stated the police told him that he was filming “the wrong videos.” The blogger assured his audience that the fine would not affect his activities in any way.

Ecologist Yevgeny Vitishko confirmed that the problem of sand removal from the beaches of Anapa is quite serious. According to his version, obscene language was only a formal reason to fine Yuri Ozarovsky, who covered many problems quite acutely.

Ecologist Andrei Fokin also believes that the accusation of using obscene language is simply a pretext for pressuring the blogger.

“Yuri Ozarovsky uses obscene language in his videos. This is the easiest reason to pick on activists. Yuri Ozarovsky is deeply concerned about the ecology of the region and fights to solve problems,” the ecologist emphasized.

On December 15, 2024, two tankers with fuel oil sank in the Kerch Strait, causing an oil spill. According to the experts’ estimates, it will take five to ten years to restore the biosystem of the Black Sea.
