Kobakhidze announces four coup attempts

While congratulating Georgian policemen on their professional holiday, Irakli Kobakhidze, the country’s Premier, has stated that within the last four years, law enforcers have prevented four attempts to encroach on Georgia’s sovereignty and a coup d'etat.

On May 31, Irakli Kobakhidze, Georgian Prime Minister, stated that in the past four years, the police have prevented four putsch attempts, the "Georgia-Online" outlet has reported.

Speaking at an event dedicated to the Policeman's Day, Premier Kobakhidze stated that the Georgian police operate according to standards that are higher than the European and American ones. This, according to his version, was especially "clearly confirmed during the events of the recent period." "In the past four years, the Georgian police have prevented four attempts to overthrown Georgia's sovereignty and a coup d'etat," the Premier has stated, adding that "suppressing large-scale violence" has not affected negatively the health of a single citizen in the long term.
