Series of attacks on law enforcers is fifth IS' attack in Chechnya (+video)
The attacks on policemen in the Shali District and in Grozny have become the fifth such incident in Chechnya and the 22nd in Northern Caucasus, the responsibility for which was claimed by the "Islamic State" (IS, a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court).
The IS has claimed responsibility for the above series of attacks on law enforcers in Chechnya. According to the police, four out of five militants were killed, and the fifth was wounded while attempting to self-blast.
The person killed during the pursuit of a car, who had knocked down three policemen in Grozny, is believed to be the organizer of the attacks on policemen in Chechnya. According to law enforcers, the man was associated with an extremist organization.
The today's militants' attack was the first in Chechnya for the last three months; the previous armed incident, the attack on Archangel Michael Church in Grozny, occurred on May 19. Then, two policemen, four militants and one parishioner were killed. The responsibility for that attack was also claimed by the IS.
Prior to the attack on the church, the IS had three times claimed responsibility for attacks committed in Chechnya.
