Deputy Chairman of Ingush Council of Teips detained in Magas

Murad Daskiev, the acting head of the Council of Teips (family clans) of Ingushetia, has linked his detention with the placement on the Council's website of an appeal to the MPs of the National Assembly.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Malsag Uzhakhov, the Chairman of the Ingush Council of Teips, was detained within the case of the use of violence against the police. On April 30, the Supreme Court (SC) of Kabardino-Balkaria refused to release him under house arrest.

According to Murad Daskiev, he was detained within the case on disseminating fake news after posting, on the Council's website of the appeal to the Ingush MPs related to a possible transfer of part of the republic's territory to neighbouring regions.

Let us remind you that on March 26, a rally was held in Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, demanding resignation of the head of Ingushetia. On March 27, an attempt to disperse the protesters resulted in clashes. According to investigators, 10 law enforcers received traumas. On April 2, mass detentions of activists began.
