Armenia hands two POWs over to Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani soldiers, detained after crossing the border, have been handed over to Baku through Russia's mediation, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed. The above soldiers were taken prisoners of war (POWs) after they lost their way due to bad weather, the Azerbaijani MoD has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, a video about capturing two Azerbaijani soldiers was posted on the YouTube.

The two Azerbaijani POWs have been returned to Azerbaijan through Russia's mediation "for humanitarian reasons," says the message of the Armenian MoD posted on December 20, which was translated by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Azerbaijani MoD has confirmed the return of two Azerbaijani soldiers by Armenia. "Teimur Guseinov and Murad Mustafaev got lost on December 18 in unfavourable weather conditions in the border area. As a result of negotiations, the soldiers have been returned today (December 20)," the "Haqqin.az" has reported with reference to the Azeri MoD.
