In Yerevan, activists hold a protest against any change in status of Nagorno-Karabakh

Members of the “5165” Party organized a march through the streets of Yerevan, and marchers called on students and passers-by to join the opposition action against attempts to change the status of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 17, Arthur Vanetsyan, the leader of the “Hayrenik” Party, and his supporters announced a round-the-clock protest action in Yerevan and stayed in a square on the night of April 18. The activists were joined by Nver Kirakosyan and Arthur Avagyan, who went on a hunger strike to draw the attention of the people of Armenia to the problem of the status of Karabakh. Nver Kirakosyan and Arthur Avagyan announced that they would suspend their hunger strike and move on to other forms of struggle as soon as enough supporters joined them.

The protesters with red ribbons in their hands marched through the streets of Yerevan, stopping in front of each university and calling on students to join them. According to the participants of the protest action, the red ribbons symbolize the red lines that, in their opinion, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has crossed on the Karabakh issue.

The protesters called on students to join the protest against Nikol Pashinyan’s actions and “lowering the bar” on the status of Karabakh, as well as to take part in the protest action held by the opposition in Liberty Square.
