Opposition launches action against Armenian authorities

In Yerevan, opposition activists and veterans of the Karabakh war are holding an endless protest action. They support Nagorno-Karabakh and criticize the policies of Nikol Pashinyan, the Premier. Four oppositionists were detained because of a clash with the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, a meeting was held in Brussels of the Azeri President, Ilham Aliev with the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. They agreed to start, by the end of April, drafting a peace agreement. On April 13, the Armenian Premier called to "lower the bar" on the issue of Karabakh's status. The change in this status is unacceptable, the MPs declared and called the Premier to abandon talks with Azerbaijan, where the Karabakh's loss of independence is discussed.

The participants of both actions held in Freedom Square in Yerevan treat the situation around Karabakh and Armenia as critical; therefore, they took to the streets aiming to consolidate people in order to prevent "Armenian authorities' rash actions."

The first action was launched on April 16 by Serob Gasparyan, the head of the "Black Panther" volunteer detachment, a brother of Rustam Gasparyan, who perished in the Karabakh war.

On April 17, in the same square, the systemic opposition began its protest action.

Khachik Galstyan, the secretary of the "Airenik" Party, has noted that Pashinyan's speech in the parliament may indicate that he is deliberately leading the country to a collapse; therefore, he must resign.
