Head of North Ossetia reacts to conflict of mobilized persons with military policemen

A man mobilized from North Ossetia has accused military policemen of beating and torture, and of nationality-based insults. Sergey Menyailo, the head of North Ossetia, has treated this attitude towards military servicemen as unacceptable.

Arsen Temiraev has stated that in the Zaporizhzhia Region, when they were recovering from their wounds, on September 24, <law enforcers> broke into their place. "Without explaining anything to us, they immediately hit us with our faces on the floor and began beating us on our heads with rifle butts ... The whole body was completely beaten up," Arsen explained in the video posted in the Telegram channel by Arzu Mamedova, a journalist.

According to Temiraev, law enforcers attacked them because of the accusations by a local woman – she had called Temiraev and his comrades rapists and paedophiles.

Arsen has added that law enforcers insulted him and another colleague, a Kabardian, on ethnic grounds.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on April 10, 2023, Sergey Menyailo, the head of North Ossetia, announced a check of the actions of the commander of the unit, in which they abused the above mobilized person. He then added that the conflict that broke out among soldiers in the regiment, where those mobilized persons from North Ossetia take their service, was caused by misunderstanding and was settled after authorities' intervention.
