Court hearing in Zhuravel’s case in Chechnya disrupted

In Grozny, a court hearing in a case on the burning of the Koran by Nikita Zhuravel has been postponed due to the failure of the victims and the defendant to appear in the courtroom.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 25, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov posted a video depicting the beating of Volgograd resident Nikita Zhuravel by Adam Kadyrov in a SIZO (pre-trial prison). The leader of Chechnya praised his son for that act. Close associates of the Chechen leader approved the beating, while a number of human rights defenders expressed their indignation. On October 2, a picketer with a poster in support of Nikita Zhuravel was detained in Saint Petersburg.

Due to the non-appearance of the victims and the non-delivery of the defendant, the hearing scheduled for October 9 in the Visaitovsky District Court of Grozny in the case against Nikita Zhuravel was postponed to October 13.

An advocate of Nikita Zhuravel said that he last visited his client about two weeks ago and that he was in normal condition.

Let us remind you that on October 6, Russian State Duma member Adam Delimkhanov announced that Ramzan Kadyrov’s son Adam was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya. Adam Delimkhanov also noted that Adam Kadyrov achieved success in combat sports, as well as in the study of the Koran.
