Woman from Vladikavkaz repeatedly faces criminal prosecution for discrediting Russian Army

A criminal case on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces was instituted against Teona Kelekhsaeva, a resident of Vladikavkaz, who had earlier been sentenced under the same article to a fine and compulsory treatment by a psychiatrist.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in March 2022, it became known that the Leninsky District Court of Vladikavkaz found Teona Kelekhsaeva guilty under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The reason for institution of a criminal case was a comment posted by Teona Kelekhsaeva in October 2022 on the “VKontakte” social network and addressed to residents of the republic participating in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, the “OVD-Info”* human rights project reported.

Earlier, Teona Kelekhsaeva had already been prosecuted under the same article: on March 23, 2023, the Promyshlenny District Court of Vladikavkaz found her guilty of discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and obliged her to pay a fine and also ordered compulsory treatment by a psychiatrist.
