"Truth of Beslan" website partially blocked for posting Shamil Basaev's letter

The "Roskomnadzor" (the Russian Federal Service for Supervising Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Media has demanded to block the page of the website "Pravda Beslana" (Truth of Beslan), which posted a copy of the letter sent by terrorists in 2004 from the captured school. This was reported on the Facebook by Marina Litvinovich, the organizer of the website dedicated to the inquiry into the terror act.

On September 1, 2004, militants captured 1128 hostages in the Beslan School. The operation for their liberation ended on September 3, 2004. 334 people died, including 186 children; other 810 people were injured.

The text of the letter by Shamil Basaev, handed over to Russian President Vladimir Putin from Beslan, was voiced out by the prosecutor on January 19, 2006. However, according to the "Truth of Beslan" website, the protocol failed to fully coincide with the original text. In his letter, Basaev offered Putin to end the Chechen War and provide Chechnya with independence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2005, hackers deleted all the information from the "Truth of Beslan" website. In March 2006, Ms Litvinovich reported an attack on her that she associated with her activities to investigate the terror acts in Moscow and Beslan.
