Gasanguseinov father and Gadjiev's colleagues go on pickets in Makhachkala

Today, Murtazali Gasanguseinov, a father of the killed shepherds, as well as colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a correspondent of the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft), accused of financing terrorism, hold solo pickets in the central square of Makhachkala.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on July 15, Murtazali Gasanguseinov went on a solo picket in Makhachkala with the demand to sanction holding a rally of 5000 people in support of a fair investigation into the case on the murder of his sons. The protest action ended with a meeting with an official from the Makhachkala Mayoralty, who promised to report the picketer's demand to the Makhachkala Mayor. Murtazali Gasanguseinov himself treats the meeting as unsuccessful. For 15 times, the authorities refused to sanction holding a rally, reports Djambulat Gasanov, who represents the interest of the Gasanguseinov family.

Nabi, 17, and Gasangusein, 19, Gasanguseinov were shot dead on August 23, 2016, during a law enforcers' counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in the Shamil District of Dagestan. Law enforcers had stated that the casualties were members of a militant grouping, but their fellow villagers insisted that the Gasanguseinov brothers were just shepherds.

Murtazali Gasanguseinov spoke in support of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, since the "Chernovik" repeatedly covered the topic of the murder of his sons. Furthermore, Murtazali Gasanguseinov announced his intention to stand on the square until the Mayor of Makhachkala gave an answer where and when the protestor could hold the rally. According to the picketer, over two years, there is no progress in the investigation into the murder of his sons, the newspaper "Chernovik" reports today.

Abdulmumin Gadjiev, the editor of the religion department of the newspaper "Chernovik", was arrested on June 18 in the case on financing of terrorism.
