In Chechnya, snipers use Syrian experience in fighting drones during military exercises

During exercises held at a military training ground in the Shali District, soldiers and officers focused on developing skills to destroy drones, the Chechen Military Commandant's Office reported.

The military exercises of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division of the Southern Military District were held on June 28. Snipers have developed skills to repel drone attacks on different objects, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by an official from the Chechen Military Commandant's Office. "Modern radar stations were used to detect enemy drones on attack, and a sniper had an instruction to destroy them," the military official explained.

According to him, when practicing training tasks, soldiers and officers took into account the experience of military operations in Syria.

The military exercises took place as a part of the development of new tactics for shooting drones from camouflaged firing positions, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports in its website.
